Artista anomalo, inventa operazioni che sono forme e figure di superamento dell’arte, ed è proprio in questo che forse è l’artista più emblematico della mostra stessa. Generalmente mette in atto delle sequenze che imitano le stesse sequenze che si verificano nella vita, sicché opera quelle che si potrebbero chiamare delle copie dal vero, senza che queste abbiano esigenze di rappresentazione, non essendo rappresentazioni ma assolutamente vere e proprie azioni. La lettura ne osserva il piano fantasmatico, in tanto in quanto esse diventano dei tagli di vita che si lasciano rivivere come tagli, come prelievi scenici e ready-made di soggettistica del quotidiano. Contin vive l’arte in trasparenza con la quotidianità qualunque della vita, sicché si prende il massimo rischio dell’interferenza. Forse è un caso, ma anche nella quantistica è l’interferenza il principio che fa funzionare le cose, un po’ come succede nell’arte dove tutte le opere sono conoscibili sulla base dell’interferenza che le intreccia, le intercetta e le omologa, per cui ognuno di noi può, nel medesimo tempo e nel medesimo investimento, entrare e uscire nello stesso momento dentro e fuori da molte opere d’arte.

He is an anomalous artist, who invents forms and figures which go beyond art and in this respect, perhaps, he is the most emblematic artist in our exhibition. Generally speaking, he sets up sequences which imitate sequences which actually happen in life, because he creates what might be described as copies of reality, without the said copies actually needing to represent, since they are not representations but absolutely real actions. They are studied on a phantasmatic level as they become slices of life allowing themselves to be relived as slices, samples and ready-mades of subjects taken from everyday existence. Contin lives art as if it were just like ordinary life, so he takes great risks with interference. Perhaps this is just a coincidence, but in quantum physics interference is the principle which makes things work, rather like what happens in art where all works can be understood in terms of interference, which weaves them together, intercepts them and standardises them, so that each and every one of us can, at the same time and making the very same investment, enter and exit (at the same instant) lots of works of art.
